Invest in Burkina Faso: a landmark forum for economic transformation

· Théodore Évariste Sanou

The inaugural International Forum “Invest in Burkina Faso” was held from 9 to 11 October 2025 at the Ouaga 2000 Conference Center, bringing together more than 1,200 participants from 48 countries. It was organised by the Burkina Faso Investment Agency with partner institutions, with China as special guest and Mali, Niger, and Ghana as partner countries.

Sessions covered agriculture, energy, infrastructure, mining, and transport. For an agribusiness like Prola-Sub, the agriculture track mattered most: the discussion centred on moving up the value chain — processing, packaging, and certification inside the country rather than exporting raw commodity — which is the same shift our project portfolio is built around.

The forum positioned Burkina Faso as a destination for structural, long-term investment across several sectors. We came away with a clearer picture of which public programmes and co-financing routes are open to private agro-industrial projects, and we will fold that into how we structure new work.

This post is general information about a public event and is not investment advice.
